The Child
little girl sacrificed to doubt
I killed you
you were the one who hurt
your wide eyes trusted too much
you had to die so I could live
I didn't know you carried my dreams.
I was left with nothing
an empty corner
a terrible darkness
I was the one who died.
You sneak.
I heard your laughter
at the edge of sleep
you were there all along
not dead
but darting ahead of me
until I could catch up.
